Advancements in connectivity and the Internet of Things (IoT) are transforming our lives, with billions of devices exchanging data and reshaping experiences. However, this unprecedented integration has vastly expanded the attack surface, raising critical security and privacy concerns. Emerging technologies like AI, Data Spaces, and Blockchain push the boundaries of identity, trust, and security frameworks, necessitating a holistic approach to protect this interconnected landscape.

Europe’s digital future depends on innovative solutions for identity management, trust establishment, and privacy preservation, supported by frameworks like the Cybersecurity Act, GDPR, and
NIS/2 directive. Robust cybersecurity measures are essential to ensure a secure and trustworthy foundation for citizens and businesses in the digital age.

This workshop, organized by the ERATOSTHENES project as its final event, will showcase how Europe’s Research and Innovation community addresses identity, trust, security, and privacy challenges for IoT devices and network systems. These efforts are vital for strengthening Europe’s resilience against cyber threats, ensuring citizens and businesses benefit from trustworthy digital tools and services.

The workshop will begin with keynote speeches from ENISA, the European Commission, and the Greek Ministry of Digital Transformation (pending confirmation), highlighting the current cybersecurity landscape, research, and challenges at National and International levels. Presentations will follow on the ERATOSTHENES technologies, outcomes, and synergies with other projects.

Parallel sessions will cover research projects, cybersecurity awareness, and technical challenges, in- cluding a hands-on training session on:

1. Reverse Engineering and Binary Exploitation

2. Applied Cryptography

Targeted at beginners, including students and engineers, the hybrid workshop will take place at the University of Piraeus, with online participation available.

Afterward, the “ERATOSTHENES Project CTF” will launch as a 15-day online Capture the Flag competition (until the 4/4/25), offering participants practical challenges aligned with the workshop’s themes.
